But then scientist Romulus Whittaker established the Samiti in 1978 by making friends with the people of the Irula tribe.

Earning crores of rupees by selling snake venom

According to the information, after this it was Whittaker who had given the responsibility of catching the snake to the people of the tribe. After this, this community changed from snake hunters to people’s life savers. People of Samiti are given government license to extract poison. They get permission to catch 13,000 snakes every year. From this he earns up to Rs 25 crore. To extract the venom from snakes, the people of this tribe catch them and keep them in an earthen pot, because the areas where they live are very hot. According to the rules, community members can keep a snake with them only for 21 days. During this time they expel poison 4 times.
